Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
2️⃣ Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3️⃣ Add Wet Ingredients: Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
4️⃣ Add Boiling Water: Stir in the boiling water slowly until the batter becomes smooth. The batter will be thin, but that’s okay!
5️⃣ Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
6️⃣ Cool: Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
7️⃣ Assemble the Cake: Once the cakes are cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the top.
